What happened - February 1st - 3rd, 2013

Friday 1st:         Church Service 7:30pm to celebrate St. Brigid    -    Refreshments afterwards 
   
Saturday 2nd:   Opening Ceremony with special guests
                         Guided tours of Church & Graveyard from 10am  - To book a free tour call Karen on

Find your ancestors, headstones from the late 1600’s.Take a tour of a 300 year old Church. The resting place of the founders of Stillorgan, Verschoyles, Deane Gradys, Wolverstons, Wingfields & Goughs.  The graveyard has been mapped with the help of  The school of Spatial Planning at DIT See   http://www.dit.ie/spatialplanning/ to find out more about this 

Other activities include:

  • Children’s Arts and Crafts Table
  • All day café. 
  • Music with Clive Armstrong, 
  • The Enniskerry's Celtic Grace Choir
  • Exhibition in Parish Hall of Maps and Old Photos of Stillorgan. Photographic exhibition of the William Orpen paintings by Dominic Lee. 
  • Talks by local historians on Herr Elsner, Edward Pearse Lovett, Gerard Kuss, Archbishop Whately to name but a few. 
  • The Genealogical Society of Ireland will be on hand to help you start your family tree with talks on the hour. http://www.familyhistory.ie/
